Avitar, Inc. (Avitar), through its wholly owned subsidiary Avitar Technologies, Inc. (ATI), develops, manufactures, markets and sells diagnostic test products and hydrophilic polyurethane foam disposables fabricated for medical, diagnostics, dental and consumer use. The Company continued the development and marketing of point-of-care oral fluid drugs of abuse tests, which use the Company's foam as the means for collecting the oral fluid sample. Avitar sells its products and services to employers, diagnostic test distributors, medical supply companies, governmental agencies and corporations. The Company continues to have applications for its technologies in a variety of other medical/consumer markets. They include a sinus dressing and a device used by astronauts for relieving ear pressure while in a pressurized space suit. Customers for these products include ArthroCare and National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
