South Africa Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions 1970-2021

Total greenhouse gas emissions in kt of CO2 equivalent are composed of CO2 totals excluding short-cycle biomass burning (such as agricultural waste burning and Savannah burning) but including other biomass burning (such as forest fires, post-burn decay, peat fires and decay of drained peatlands), all anthropogenic CH4 sources, N2O sources and F-gases (HFCs, PFCs and SF6).
  • South Africa greenhouse gas (ghg) emissions for 2007 was 502,130.26, a 4.6% increase from 2006.
  • South Africa greenhouse gas (ghg) emissions for 2006 was 480,054.73, a 3.66% decline from 2005.
  • South Africa greenhouse gas (ghg) emissions for 2005 was 498,312.89, a 5.42% increase from 2004.
  • South Africa greenhouse gas (ghg) emissions for 2004 was 472,713.79, a 3.59% increase from 2003.
