Euro Area Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions 1990-2023

Total greenhouse gas emissions in kt of CO2 equivalent are composed of CO2 totals excluding short-cycle biomass burning (such as agricultural waste burning and Savannah burning) but including other biomass burning (such as forest fires, post-burn decay, peat fires and decay of drained peatlands), all anthropogenic CH4 sources, N2O sources and F-gases (HFCs, PFCs and SF6).
  • Euro Area greenhouse gas (ghg) emissions for 2019 was 2,588,930.03, a 4.28% decline from 2018.
  • Euro Area greenhouse gas (ghg) emissions for 2018 was 2,704,630.01, a 2.65% decline from 2017.
  • Euro Area greenhouse gas (ghg) emissions for 2017 was 2,778,239.99, a 0.13% decline from 2016.
  • Euro Area greenhouse gas (ghg) emissions for 2016 was 2,781,840.01, a 0.21% decline from 2015.
